Designing to Improve Your Life: Put the kettle on
I’m going to buck the trend of the Designing to Improve Your Life series this week and instead focus on a product that’s taken good design and stuck it in an unexpected place. My mug.
If you’re a tea drinker like me, you’re probably familiar with something I like to call the “tea bag betrayal”. You’re minding your own business and enjoying your tea when suddenly your tea bag peels away from the side of the mug and splashes you in the face.
Well, Canadian company Serengeti Tea has replaced the traditional tea bag with something much more user friendly. A tea stir stick.
This may not be a “stop the presses” moment, but we found this as a great example of how design can infiltrate its way into your life in unanticipated moments.
